Rap Type Mag is proud to announce the RTM Awards 2026, an initiative dedicated to recognising and celebrating local hip hop legends who have made a meaningful impact in their communities through music and culture.
The prestigious awards ceremony will take place on 19 September 2026 at Lizpeter Guesthouse in Xinkuwani, Chavani Village, bringing together members of the local entertainment and creative community to celebrate individuals who have contributed to the growth and development of hip hop. Covering from Elim to Bungeni.
This year, one of the legends being honoured is MAKAPENI (Tribe of One), representing Elim, for their contribution and influence within the local hip hop culture.
The RTM Awards are built around the belief that the people who help shape local culture deserve to be recognised and celebrated. Through the awards, Rap Type Mag aims to shine a spotlight on artists, creatives and cultural contributors whose work has helped inspire audiences and strengthen the hip hop movement within their communities.
