After a strong warm-up in 2018, Mishlawi rings in 2019 with the infectious and vibe-friendly single “Audemars,” featuring South African rapper, Nasty C. The Sensay Beats & Prodlem produced hit meshes modern rap drum patterns while Mishlawi and Nasty C deliver high energy flows on the high-octane production. The single follows the success of Mishlawi’s debut self-titled EP released last summer that featured the American jazz, Latin and trap influenced single - ‘All Night’.
Born in New Jersey to a Turkish mother and Lebanese father, the 22 year-old artist was raised in Phoenix, Arizona before the family relocated to Portugal when Mishlawi was aged 11. This created a unique culture clash between his Turkish/American/Portuguese roots which mixed together have influenced and defined Mishlawi’s cross-genre artistry.
The video, directed by Pedro Dias & Pluma, is a lo-fi VHS-style production that accentuates Mishlawi’s DIY approach to creating, as well as his love for his crew and the finer things in life –– such as Audemars watches.
With the recent release of the more mellow and acoustic-led “Uber Driver,” and the forthcoming release of “Audemars,” taken from his debut album ‘Solitaire’ out Feb 8th. Mishlawi is entering 2019 on a mission and with the strength of his debut EP, if there were ever a voice to take notice of this year, it’s Mishlawi’s.
