Who or what got You into Hip hop?
.
It might seem so funny to some but as a young 10 year old boy I was in love with everything about Michael Jackson, and I mean everything from music, to videos, concerts and the way he dressed.
I event went to my Grade 7 dress up day looking like Michael.
My favorite song by far was Billie Jean and I knew almost his entire sequence on stage even though I never had enough money to go see a concert live, I watched that many live concerts on TV.
By the age of 15 my voice would have broken and the voice I was left with would never allowed me to try and pursue a singing career due to me never also having money for vocal training, therefore I had to look towards rap music.
By this time the rap music industry was being controlled by artist such as: Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Migos, etc... and this sparked my interest towards Hip Hop (more directly towards Trap music).
.
.
What makes YoungGoofy different from other Trap Artists?
.
When people look at a trap artist or listen to their music many think about it as meaningless and just for fun, or so I've heard.
Apparently trap music is all about bragging and showing off what you got and has no true meaning or hidden stories.
Trap is also about just girls, money and narcotics(Weed).
I believe what makes me different is that I write music that speaks to those who strive for success , I write music that brings life and joy to a song, not being violent and uncensored. I hardly ever use explicit lyrics and unlike many trappers who mumble, my vocals and flows are as clear as crystal, maybe with a bit of tongue twisting on fast flows.
.
.
What is the Motive behind Your Writings?
.
As stated in answer 2 , I tend to write music that speaks about how I see me blowing , but not only me though because if you would listen to my music you would feel motivated to actually try and chase for a success. So in essence I would write music that speaks towards me/us becoming a success story in this industry and how trap music got me elevating towards where I want to be.
I know some of my music in featured songs might be a bit violent or explicit however for the most of it, my single music or mix-tapes speak towards my goal on becoming great. My main other motive would also be to continuously make my mother proud as being her only son and her being a single parent, I feel she deserves to see me becoming a success... after all she raised me this great.

.
What is the Good and the Worst about hip hop in CPT according to your experiences?
.
The Good thing I could definitely say about Cape Town Hip Hop is that the music might not always be to the best quality in terms of production but the story behind each song definitely has more meaning and realness than many other artist around the world.
It also has been proven by artists like Youngsta CPT and Jimmy Nevis that Cape Town has the potential to make it big.
.
The worst thing however about the Cape Town industry, especially for up and coming artist like myself is the support shown by Capetonians.
I know it might sound harsh but people in Cape Town only tend to fully support you once you make it and I feel that if this would change then we would see many Cape Town artist like Infamous AJG, YxngMeezy, Le-Lo Thee Illest, even myself hitting levels to that of top artists.
Few years from now,  where will YoungGoofy be?
.
Only time can exactly say where I might end up but being 21 now I have always set a Goal for myself stating that before the age of 25 I would have liked to at least perform Live at few major shows all over the world and built  great following/ social presence just like many of todays big artists.
I would also by this time would have wanted to release music with some big features on it and even push for being a Nominee at the SAMAs.
These are only but short term goals and with time I will be putting together even longer term goals as things start coming into place.
.
.
YoungGoofy... What is the story behind this stage name?
.
By 2016 I decided that I want to start taking this music business seriously as I felt I had the potential to become great with it. I just finished High School and started working which helped me get money to put into studio time. Before recording my first song in 2016 many still only new me as Haaziq Mitchell, my name and surname.
By this time I was a huge Young Thug fan believing he was the GOAT.
I know this theory was not accurate but I really like what he brought to the music industry.
This influence brought the initial 'Young' in my name.
I then also really by this time liked the Initials YG, not really sure yet why but I just like 'YG' the initials.
I obviously could never use 'YG' as there was already an artist known by this. Because I have always been a Goofy type of guy , making people smile and just feel awesome/comfortable, I thought the 'Goofy' together with the 'Young' would allow me to also carry the initials YG and therefore I adapted the name #YoungGoofy
.
.
How is the response from family and friends towards your music career?
.
Honestly speaking the response from friends and family was not always positive as they never believed I would have what it takes to pursue a music career, especially due to me only taking music seriously in 2016 at the age of 17.
However over the last 3 years the believe and responses grew enormously (and has been very positive) as they now saw that I was actually taking this serious and could see that what I was pushing for was actually coming to life.
Like I said many only start to support when they see thing happening and that is what I have learnt in this CPT industry.
.
.
What are the wise words that keep you going as an Artist?
.
Funny enough the wise words that keeps me going comes from a professional wrestler.
Many would know him by the name of John Cena and the saying is 'Never Give Up'.
This is what keeps me going each and everyday , even when things don't seem to be working at times, I always just remind myself never to give up as I am positive that like many before me who never gave up and made it.
I WILL MAKE IT TOO!
If there would be one thing you would love to change in the South African Hip hop platforms,  what would it be?
.
One thing I would love to change is for people to look at the SA Hip Hop/Trap scene more or less to the same image as that seen in international artist.
I believe that South Africa has amazing musical talents and I believe that with more push, drive and by staying constant with the fantastic music being released, myself as well as many other talented artists will be capable of bringing many eyes and ears towards the SA Hip Hop Scene.
.
.
Shout Outs
.
I might have sent a few already in the previous texts but I would like to send an extended shout out To Rap Culture CPT and Unsigned CPT for putting in the work and creating the platform for upcoming Cape Town artists to gain great exposure in the CPT music industry.
Also Shout out to the artists I have worked with thus far like Le-Lo Thee Illest, YxngMeezy, BBoy_CPT, The KSB Crew, Arab Sosa, SA Entertainment, Whodini_SA and the rest of Cpae Town Scene making waves rapping CPT.
