This song was created back in 2020 in Overdose’s home studio, while Stax Masiza was still living in Cape Town. The 2 artists have a history of working on various songs together that were widely known across Hout Bay, where they both were living at the time. The UK Drill instrumental was created by DJ Universe, who also recorded the 2 artists on the very same day he played the beat for them. The song Cpt 2 Jozi is split into 4 fire verses where Stax & O.D go bar for bar, while adding a proudly South African flavour with the use of Zulu, Xhosa, Afrikaans and other vernaculars onto this hit record.
The music video was shot in 2 different cities to pay homage to both artist’s hometowns, just like the title of the record suggests (Cape Town 2 Jozi). We see popular locations like the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto, where Stax Masiza grew up, as well as some scenes shot in Hangberg, Hout Bay where Overdose is currently based. It was shot by one of Cape Town’s best film specialists, HD Produxions, who continuously break boundaries with the power of their creativity and unconventional style of music video productions.
They story behind the song is that Overdose and Stax Masiza were planning to take over the South African music industry one city at a time, starting with Cape Town and Jozi (Johannesburg). Both emcees are lyricists, who met a few years ago while they were both still living in Hout Bay. They aimed to show the world how amazing music can be when people bring their different cultural backgrounds together to create something proudly South African to the hip-hop scene. They’re showcasing our country to the rest of the world, by adding their own unique twist to the UK Drill sound, which is currently booming on radio stations worldwide.

Hlamy C, aka "Ntombi ya Mhlengwe", is a South African R&B/Soul Musician, Songwriter and
Guitarist Born on the 15th of September 1999 who is living with albinism. She was born in Matsakali village near Malamulele in the Limpopo Province but grew up in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province. Hlamy C, real name Hlamarisa Mercy Chauke, matriculated from Shingwedzi High School in 2018 and studied BA Communications at the University of Limpopo.
Hlamy C began her musical journey in 2016 as a lead singer for her high school and church
choirs respectively. She was first introduced to the recording side of music by a rapper friend,
where she impressed the producers at a local studio with her versatile, sweet, and melodic voice.
She was later featured on a song by McCain titled “Mihlolo ya Boti” which was never officially
released.
In 2018, she was introduced to another local studio where things started to look promising for
her. She recorded and released her first official solo single titled “Mali Madlayisani”, which got
playlisted at a local community radio station Mala FM and scored her an interview with the
station. She further recorded 6 more tracks which were to form part of her debut album but due
to disagreements with the producers, the songs were never released.
In 2019, Hlamy C was approached by another producer, Moose, and she immediately featured
in his song titled “Mabadi”. In 2020, she recorded and released her debut 6-track EP titled “The
Opportunity” under Moose’s Hotwave Productions label. On the EP, Hlamy C displayed her
versatility and multilingualism by infusing seven (7) languages into soulful sounds of R&B and
soul with a touch of African flavour. As a young artist, the EP gained her significant recognition
amongst her peers, and it remains her best musical expression to-date.
In 2021, Hlamy C released a pulsating and soulful single track titled “Norho” which is currently
doing extremely well in the market. The single is a follow up on her self-discovered Afro soul
melodic sounds. The single is part of her up coming EP due to be released later this year.
Having met DJ, producer, record label owner and artist manager, Sumthyn Black in 2021, Hlamy
C has renewed her hopes of taking her music both nationally and internationally. She believes
that now is the right time for her to spread her wings and take the South African music industry
by storm. Hlamy C is inspired by musicians such as Adele, Beyonce, Sia, Shane World and Nox Guni but appreciates and is further inspired by Salif Keita who made it as musician while living with albinism

It has got the support from the both the government and the people (community) once ure out there you will fully get their support and it is profitable.
The bad thing is that even though you can be a very good & talented singer, without the good team that is knowledgable with the industry by your side, you might end up not getting where you want to head.

Being different is the one special thing one should be proud of. Living with albinism doesn't limit you from doing anything done by the ones who does not have the condition. If you do not stand up for yourself no one will. As the one's who were able to stand up, we are here to represent you, give you the courage to be inspired and rise up as well, but if you don't believe in yourselves no one will. Its starts with you. You can change how people think or assume things about you. We are all human afterall.

Lwazi Fatyela popularly known as Lwazi GB is a Rapper, sound engineer & Producer from Eastern Cape, Queenstown and currently based in Johannesburg. He has a strong social media presence and has over 200 000 followers on his social media accounts.
Lwazi GB released his debut EP titled ‘Icebo Lokuphila’ in 2019 and it did very well, receiving great reviews and was the no.1 selling hip hop album on Google Play and iTunes in South Africa for a couple of weeks. He is a rapper, producer and a self-taught recording engineer and has worked with many up & coming artists all over South Africa, recording their albums and producing their beats.
As his career started blowing on the right direction; His music has been on heavy radio rotation on local and national radio stations. In September 2014 he entered a 5FM International Hip hop competition by Ms Cosmo. Lwazi GB won a hip hop competition called the ‘Rap Factor ‘on 5FM. The competition was hosted by Ms Cosmo and the benefit of this completion was that the winner would get a full beat produced by Tweezy and Record a song in Acoustic Media, the company that recorded AKA’s "Levels" album
In 2016 he won an award for ‘Best Hip Hop Artist’ in University of Forthare on the University awards that were hosted on a prestigious event, Centenary Celebrations. Moreover, He was invited to perform in Sliqe’s birthday party at Zone 6 Venue in Soweto (Johannes burg) (2017), He also performed in various events sharing a stage with big names in the music industry.
When did you realize that you can Rap and Produce Music?
I realized that I can rap in 2008. My friends and I used to host cyphers in school and we would invite people to watch us rap. At that time were just doing it for fun until the passion started kicking in and we decided to take music serious and record songs.
During that time I was just rapper/song writer and not a producer or sound engineer. I started recording my songs from other people’s studios. My first song was recorded by one of my friends ‘’Putuma Konqana also known as FLASH and he’s also the guy that taught me the basics of music production.
With the knowledge and experience I had, I decided to start my own recording label ‘’Cash Unit Records’’ In 2013 as I had a strong passion in recording and making beats and that’s when my journey as a producer & sound engineer began.
What is the good and the bad thing about Mzansi Hip hop according to your experiences?
The good thing is that hip hop in Mzansi has expanded in terms of listenership and fan base over the years and a result, musicians in the main stream are now thriving more and more and also upcoming musicians can also make something out of their careers.
The bad thing is that upcoming musicians are not given the same treatment as the main stream artists especially when it comes to radio & TV airplay.
How is the response from Friends and Family towards your Music Career?
The love & support my family and friends have shown towards me & my music career is overwhelming. My Mom and my late grandmother gave me their blessings to continue chasing my dreams.
Lwazi GB... What is the Story behind this Stage name?
Lwazi GB is a stage name I came up with when I started my music career. The acronym ‘GB’ stands for God being (Lwazi the God Being). I wanted to be different and unique as if I was not a human being, hence the name ‘Lwazi the God Being’.
What is one thing that people think you are which you are actually not?
People think I’m this serious guy because of my social media persona. I’m one of the craziest niggas you’ll ever meet especially when we connect and our chemistry is good.
What is the Motive behind most of the songs you write?
Most of the songs I write are influenced by my personal journey and the hardships that I’ve faced in life. I always strive to motivate others by telling my story so that when it’s all said and done, a kid from eKasi would know that it’s possible no matter what kind of background you came from.
In Few years to come, where will Lwazi GB be?
In a few years to come I want to be one of the biggest artists in Africa and also a multi-platinum selling artist and international music producer.

My celeb crush is Kamo Mphela. She started being my crush after that ‘Nkulu Nkulu’ song lol, I really love that song and the music video is just as amazing. I think she’s very talented and I like the fact that she’s authentic.

Alexandra Township rapper and comedian Jovislash commemorates the late Prokid with a new documentary titled Pro Boots. In the 12 minutes film, we get to reminisce about Prokid with Jovislash while he donates the pair of sneakers that belonged to the late Prokid to the South African Hip Hop Museum.
August the 8th (2021) is the official release date of the Pro Boots documentary, which is also the date that marks three years since the legendary South African hip hop pioneer Prokid departed.

Born in Polokwane, in the dusty streets of Kgohloane, Mag is an emerging Rapper who is taking the Hip hop music industry by storm. The Tembisa based rapper has been recording music for over 5 years and has so far managed to bag 3 projects; Music + Times (2017), YDDM (2019), Kookies (2020) under his belt.
Raised by a single Mother, Mag emphasises that the only way to making great music is staying true to yourself and your story, regardless of your background and challenges.
After graduating from university in 2014, the young artist worked for a few corporate companies, which eventually led to the inevitable.
From his collaboration project Music + Times with a Pretoria based producer Just Couga, the pair managed to score a fair play from Radio and TV with their smash hit single ‘Living My Life’. The video played on 1kzn TV and Soweto TV while the song played on few online and community radio stations.
In 2018 the Rapper took a break from the music space to focus more on his mental and emotional health, and during this time He was also working on his new authentic sound. We heard a dash of this sound in his 2019 release, YDDM, but it wasn’t as clear. Mag has moved from making music purely in English to almost Rapping in his own Language (Sepedi) all the time. Mixing Kwaito, Amapiano and Hip hop, Mag has taken his sound to a whole new level. The sound is so clear on his new EP entitled ‘Kookies’ (2020) which got him the song of the year award at the Hip hop Cares Awards 2020, hosted in Limpopo, Jane Furse.
Mag has shared the stage with some known & unknown artists and his energy has never been less amazing.
The Hip hop Cares Award winner and Bluemoon Records signee and co-founder says he is here to stay and is someone to definitely look out for in 2021 and beyond.
What is the good and the bad thing about Hip hop according to your experiences?
There's nothing bad about Hip Hop, that's my opinion. However, I think people would think it's bad because of what it is associated with. And that very Association is what makes it such a great artform because it rebels against the system wich is the norm. So the best thing about Hip Hop is that it empowers and it gives confidence.
If you were not a Rapper, What would you be?
Haha I would probably be an IT Technician/Developer or something of that sort, because that's what I studied for... I think that's what I would have been. Otherwise I think I'd be a great politician ?
What do you think made You win the Song of the Year title at the Hip hop Cares Awards that other Rappers must take note of?
Besides the fact that I'm very dope... I think it's my consistency. My consistency in making music when nobody is watching, My consistency in learning and growing My sound and just how I treat Myself as a brand. I think most Rappers are so obsessed with their dictionaries so much that they forget that there's other qualities that makes you a complete Brand.
How is the response from Friends and Family towards your Music Career?
Now? They're are my biggest fans, but it wasn't like that in the beginning. It actually only started making sense last year. Yes I had friends who already understood where I was going with this, but now I've managed to turn most into believers
Mag... What is the Story behind this Stage name?
So I don't know if this is happening across every hood in Mzansi but where I'm from, in Pololwane, if your name is Thabo, then your Street Government Name is Magesh. I don't know why or who came up with it but at some point in my early high school it just started becoming a thing. So when I started taking the music thing a little serious I knew i had to change it to something more appealing to my identity and also bearing in mind that there's already a Legendary Magesh (TKZee)
What is one thing that people think You are which You are actually not?
Arrogant. I've grown to embrace it though, because it keeps a lot of stuff away from me.
If You were to Change one thing about Hip hop around your hood, what would it be and why?
Platforms. There are platforms around the hood but they are for other people. I don't know why people don't take Hip Hop serious. Actually I kinda know, and that's something I'm hoping to change

Hopefully in a Rolls Royce with My Wife and 5 kids.
