The four friends are Jean-Jacques Markgraaff (EDDiE SKRUFF), Lwazi Tshoagong (Fleance The ART), Nimrod Matjeke (Dormin Cheques) and Ezekiel Letsholo (Eazi).
It all started as fun and games until the recording of the 2018's single "Chapter One" where the four realised that as a team they sound better... The months went by and bookings were made prominently in Potchefstroom and Carletonville. The team have since matured and grown to new heights musically this is very much evident in their current lead single "SOMETIMES" a light serenade with heavy hitting 808's and a soft old time lo-fi sample... Song produced by Eddie Skruff, hook also by him... The team aims to dominate the charts with their unique off grind out of worldly sound.... What better way to do that than with a brilliant team!
The A Team... How did you guys come up with this name for the Crew?
The name came a long as an idea we had, that it's better to move in numbers to get the job done and if we look at super hero history, The A Team mostly accomplished missions as a team.
Many Crews break apart as they grow but you guys stuck together. What makes you to stay strong as a crew?
Not to sound cliché but in all honesty it's been the music, and also the fact that we know how to deal with internal beef.
What is the Good and the Bad thing about hip hop in your hood according to your experiences?
Carletonville, the city we are from is a house dominated area, so pushing hip-hop is a real hassle, but the good thing is now the younger generation is now more involved in entertainment events side of things, so hip hop is getting it's time to shine now.
Few years to come, Where will The A Team be?
Chart topping, but as a label. The dream has always been to turn A Team into more than just a music group but for it to become more of a label pushing young artists.
What is the Motive behind most of your writings of your music?
That's actually funny because, the way we record is as such. We would chill, EDDiE SKRUFF would make a beat usually inspired by his daily routine or something, then someone would come up with a hook and then bang, we have a song.
What is that one mistake that you think upcoming artists do that blocks their breakthrough in the music industry?
Being self absorbed, thinking their style of music is the one and not being able to climb out their box.
If it wasn't for Hip hop, Where would The A Team Be?
Nowhere, that's plain and simple.
What is The A Team's side of view towards Gender Based Violence?
Wrong, wrong and wrong, You can't be anymore wrong than that, hitting a woman or even a child is just wrong on so many levels.

From my perspective life without hip hop wouldn't be as it is now, I mean most of hip hop acts share, messages, stories to heal broken souls And some bring the vibe, For Enjoying and fulfilling purposes.
What is the good and the bad thing about hip hop around your hood?
Ah!! Bad thing about hip hop around my hood is, it is not taken seriously, especially on Big Events taking place here, People are always down for house music, so we don't get enough time to express our talents.
You've received a lot of likes on your link on the "Rap type Mag's like my link challenge" how do you feel about that?
I feel so blesses to have the small circle of supporters/fans around me , who always make sure by any means that they, stream my music, download my music, they like and follow my social media pages. I feel like they are very much loyal to me as I am to them and they really wanna see me breaking through.

I'm really good for this music thing and is that I have real and loyal fans.

The Story behind RxckSt4R is basically about how I wanna live like: Not minding what's negative around me but just keeping on doing my thing.

KxL Suave is Formally written as KaL Suave -: KaL stands for : Kool And Lit , and Suave flocks with Charming , so the alias formally represents me.
Many artists struggle to make it in the music industry because they are not signed but you are managing... how do you do it?
Um, I Strongly believe that the beauty is in the struggle.
So I just cope by maximizing my faith in God, Believing in myself and what I'm doing cause I know what I want in the game ,and where I am heading to.

McWiz wasn’t really into music he, was just a skater when Boyza met him in 2017, his journey as a beat maker and producer started with Raw Entertainment when Boyza heard one of his beats as a beginner who only just started making beats for 2 months, he was advised to stop whatever he was doing at that point and focus on beat making, that’s when he joined Raw EnT and his craft as a beat maker and producer began... ever since McWiz has been glued to the screen and keys to creating the finest sounds and quality music. Performed on my dream stage @zone6venue. Made it to The "Hottest SA Producer list 2019". Lastly i have motivated alot of young ones with the Instrumentals and my accomplishments in 3years of creating.
What Genre do you produce and why?
Hiphop, Trapsoul, House and Afropop. This helps me to keep being versatile, if i produced one genre! I feel i would run out of taste

What is the good and the worst thing about Beat making / Producing according to your experiences?
Good thing is its a creative world, its a journey and one can never stop learning or know too much. It makes me happy. There is no bad thing about making beats except your family not understanding what you do thinking you just sit home all day on computer making noise and eating food.
What is that One mistake that you think Beat makers / producers do that mess up the whole project?
I feel alot of creatives take away originality and simplicity from some records that they squash away vision of the song. Over compressing or no compression is the biggest mistake.
Which Beat have you composed / produced that you can say it was a success amongst them all?
Almost 6 that been on National TV. If i choose one its Trapsoul Beat titled "Love". It aired on Mzansi Magic (Ubabakhe) movie.
McWiz Beats, What is The Story Behind this stage name?
Started as Wiz short for Wizard. Was named after the Unique and Organic Hiphop beats i make by a friend when he said i use some sort of spells or which craft to make beats. From Wiz Wiz Wizard we wanted to make it sound as a brand name and it was switched to McWizBeats.

I grew up listening to a lot of T.I and Jay Z. I loved Hip Hop since my Primary School years and there I developed the love of writing and rapping! A cousin of mine was the one who actually fueled me up to take my skills to another level in Hip Hop.
How would you imagine life without hip hop?
I've never thought of my life without Hip Hop because I treat it like a culture that it is! It saved me from a lot of Stress and Struggles through my upbringing- because it was the only space/platform to express myself!
Who is your main inspiration behind your music?
Majority of the time- I found my Inspiration through Jay-Z but the minority I found inspiration in Myself -always trying to be a better me! I am currently inspired by myself.
What is the story behind your stage name Zoo?
At a certain point in my life, there were things that were happening Wildly, Chaotically and Warlike to a point where I saw the world as a place where we as humans are kept and tamed like animals in a Zoo! The system we live by is our reality So I decided to call myself: Zoo with the energy of trying to better the issue and create a freedom based world!
Is Mzansi Hip hop on the right direction or it needs to pull up socks?
South Africa’s Music Industry is more behind when you compare it to the American Industry in regards to Our Sound production and marketing-So I believe we still need to pull our socks up and establish a Strong way of improving our sound production skills & also expanding into a wider variety of genres while also bettering the business side of music.
Few years from now, where will Zoo be?
A Few years for me is 2 years- so I’d like to be in a place where im financially and spiritually stable enough to sustain my career but like I always say, everything is in God’s hands.

Andy cloud A rapper who started rapping in 2013. I released my first mixtape the first I started rapping and I'm now ready with a classic project.
I started with writing poetry at school around 2002, My love for music and writing grew into me wanting to express myself on beats. My style is unique and is rich in poetic content. I also like telling a story in my music. I pride myself in being unique and not sounding like the average rapper. I have worked on my current project for 2 years and I am ready to submit it to distribution companies. I am originally from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape but based in Benoni.
Who or what got You into Hip hop?
I started off from just loving words, I respected people who could use words poetically. My love for words grew and I writting poetry in high school, Prior to my love of words, I had been listening to kwaito and hip hop, Saving my lunch monetly at school to buy the latest cassete. I initially wanted to author books but my school teacher told me people don't buy poetry books. I used to perform poems at school events. Later on in life I wanted to fuse my love for music and my passion for poetry, What better way that in Rythm and poetry.
If you were not into Hip hop, what would you do?
Id probly be miserable. Music has been an emotional outlet for me, Im a creative who needs to vent for sanity.
Careerwise I am currently a Car Salesman who has ambitions of going into business.
What is the Good and the Worst thing about Hip hop around Your hood?
Im from Ikwezi in the Eastern Cape. The worst thing would be people listen to hip hop in their homes but when they get to the clubs they play other genres, Hip hop is not seen as turn up music. Good thing would be that hip hop lives regardless of whether there are platforms that showcase it or not.
What is the Motive behind your Songs especially the latest One?
Love has always been my biggest inspiration. The latest single is about a crush I had on a 19 year old, I was so infactuated about her, I was also concerned about her well being as I felt she was making crucial mistake by not choosing me and her lifestyle was out of hand.
The song is me giving advice to her, I also sound bitter because she does not choose to be with me.
How is the Response from Family and friends that you are in the Hip hop Game?
Im old, like in my early 30s, They give me those crazy looks but out of concern. This has always been my childhood dream. They also respect my music though and I can tell they want the best for me. I just hope this music thing funds bigger dreams
What are the Wise words that keep you going as a Rapper?
There is a time for everything. My time is also coming.

I struggled to find a name, I have always been fascinated with clouds. They can be so dynamic and beautiful. There was also a Tv series called Highlandeers that had a main character called Duncan Mccloud. I loved how he called his own name. So clouds and Duncan Mccloud ended up ....Andy Cloud. (Makes no sense I now) Like I said I battled. Andy comes from my name Andile.
Few Years from now, where will You be as a Rapper?
I would like to open up the industrt and help create platform for up and coming artists, I have struggled to be break into, I still am struggling. I have learnt things about the industry I would like to teach to other artists, Making a success of other people is sonething I would love to one day do. I will later be involved in music as a song writer when I start having a family. I want to be a businessman who does music because he still loves it.

Sipho Mnguni is An upcoming artist from Johannesburg who always dreamed of becoming a musician and sharing his sounds with music lovers. He pursued his music career at age 21 while enrolled to do his first-year studies in multi-media at Boston Media House.
In 2016, Mnguni dropped out of school due to lack of funding. It was during this period where he found himself in the darkest place, which pushed him to find an alternative hiding spot. His calling to make music kept him going, and he responded. Mnguni started out using borrowed equipment and learned how to make beats, before long he had started cooking up his music. In 2018 Mnguni released his first single titled “Broken Up”
I am an artist based in Cape Town at the moment however born in KZN In a small town called Dundee. I took interest in music in my early high school years with two of my school peers whom one of them is my long time collaborator and he goes by the name "Keozei". We started a Rap group back in 2010 which gave birth to Kid Gap the Artist. With Talent shows at school we never won any of the shows however we were always a crowed favorite which kept me inspired to seek more out of music. I finished high school with the same mindset of wanting to pursue music further so i studied at Cape Audio College and completed my course in 2018 as a qualified sound Engineer. My focus was always to be an artist so as soon as i graduated from college, I've been putting more focus on my music from an artist and songwriters perspective.
Who or what got you into Hip hop?
I remember the first Hip Hop song that grabbed my attention was "T.I's - Big things poppin" song back in the early 2000s. I was on holiday with pops at the time i had seen the video on MTV and i have not looked back since. My older twin brothers took an interest in music as well when i was in primary school and would allow me to watch them record whenever i was around. That was fascinating to me as i got to see the process of making a song from scratch, so that defs amplified my passion for music.
If you were not into Hip hop, what would you do?
That is a question that has never found a place in my thoughts since this is all i see myself doing, however if we are really to think about it.... i think i would be a voice over artist or a tv presenter. I have never seen myself to be the office type of person so my goals were always in the media industry.
What is the Best and the Worst thing abut hip hop according to your Experiences?
Well as an up and coming artist i think the worst thing for me is that there is way to many people trying to be rappers ouchea that its hard for people to actually acknowledge that you might just be the next big thing and not another so called "Rapper".
The best thing about hip hop for me is that as much as it's something that started in 1970s it has found a way to remain relevant through out the years and the youth keep on expanding the culture and pushing it forward. Hip Hop is Timeless.
What is the Story behind your Project "Gemini Split"?
"Gemini Split" takes from the concept of the Gemini star sign which is basically twins stuck in one body. Its a 9 track project that has relationship songs that basically give you insight on relationship experiences that i have gone through whether good or bad.
Kid Gap... What is the story behind this Stage name?
Growing up I was into athletics in primary school and I pretty much use to win most if not all my 100 meter races and i use to win with a good gap between myself and other kids in my division. My cousin just started calling Gap at some point and i stuck with it and apply the same focus into my music and that is to out shine and leave a gap between myself and competition.
How is the Response from Family and Friends towards Your Music Journey?
Its been a long journey and not a easy one at times, especially having to convince my parents that this is not just a hobby but something I want to turn into an actual career. Over the years the folks have come around. I think i can honestly say my growth as an artist is due to my friends, i could never give enough credit to the gang.
What keeps you going as a Rapper?
Challenging myself as an artist overall is what keeps me going i try and not only focus on rap. I try to make myself as versatile as i can be, the "Gemini split" project is a good example of me trying to branch out into something more than a rapper however you should still be able to hear i write from a rapper's pen which is the root to my music.
Do you think Mzansi Hip hop is on point or it needs to be polished?
Personally I think we are doing the best that we can at the moment and we haven't reached our limit yet as the industry is still growing. There is more supporting brands and businesses to the culture in SA now than ever before and i think its crucial to acknowledge the growth considering how far we've come in the last 5 years alone.
