Stukz is a 22 year old musical genius from Tembisa. My real name is Nhlanhla I got the nickname Stukz from my late brother when I started making hip hop music and the rest as they say, is history.
What got Stukz into Hip hop?
My late brother actually got me into music... He used to play 2Pac (who happens to be my biggest influence) in his car all the time and as soon as I actually paid attention to the lyrics I was hooked. It wasn't long till I started writing my own lyrics and I was already into writing poetry so the transition to writing songs wasn't so difficult.
How is Mzansi Hip hop different from international Hip hop?
There's not really that much of a difference... I think we produce the same level of quality in terms of music the only thing the States has on us are years because they gave birth to it.
What makes Stukz different from other Hip hop artists?
Well my raps are a reality of where I come from, how I grew up and all the things that have happened to me in my life. Many call me conscious. In some cases I rap from the perspective of the watcher and sometimes I'm the participant which is something a lot of these rappers dont or let me rather say, can't do. They would rather talk about cars, women, parties, alcohol and ignore the fact that there are real issues in the world that need to be addressed.
Who are the Amazing people or Organizations have you worked with in this Hip hop game?
I work with Coalesce Nation Records which is the label I'm signed to, my producer Siz is an amazing human being his beats are too godly. I also have my own record label called Dreams Entertainment with my best friend Writer Roy and Mpho. Homeslyc production has helped me a lot with my videos. I've worked with Israelite who is an amazing vocalist, I've done a song with Fahima Sing another talented vocalist... I worked with my friend/producer his name is Dawgish, he also produced a few songs on my upcoming debut mixtape called Angels And Amazing Dreams. I am currently working on a few songs with Kick... The list is endless.

My older cousin, Mpho. Shout out to him, he introduced me to rap music, when years went by I started writing my own rhymes, I'd recite them in front of the mirror and thinking I'm Pac and all those. What’s on the plate?
I'm dropping my second upcoming mix tape titled Skelm Demo pretty soon. I'm currently working on third single off the tape called "Ispani 2.0". I'm still promoting my video for "Hezekiel Speng", and I'll release the visuals for "HiiiGHER" from the tape as well. My producer (Evd Revo) and I spent long time trying to craft a unique sound and we think we're getting there. Everybody can rap. It’s boring now. I rap, but I cannot say I'm a 'rapper' till I get paid
. So for me, being an 'artist' no longer means just putting creative shit together: it’s about touching people where they've never been touched, with even meeting their skin, this what I plan to do with my art.

David is a creative mind from a township, I grew up in tembisa until 2001 where I moved to Midrand, to a township called Kaalfontein… we used to make jokes when we were young in high school and said that’s where the dust belongs, but yeah it is a dusty place. Yeah, David is a photographer/ videographer inspiring and a metographer, well, I’m all about doing like crazy stuff in my life you know, I’m just a creative who’s sometimes so immersed and like this up surd kinda thinking that people just don’t understand but gradually they start seeing that ethic has its place to play and you know what I want to do in life and what I want to accomplish, but yeah otherwise as David, David is a politically influenced guy, he’s a reader, a critical thinker and he really could teach a lot of things, He’s one person that would make you question what you are telling him, Yeah, that’s just David.
Who or what got you into photography?
Actually, that’s an interesting story, I remember initiation when I enrolled at UJ for fine arts, I met a called Nzolo Bidla, who’s now an in-law of mine, Lol I know that’s actually mixed up but yeah he’s dating my sister. I met that guy when I was walking and ummm… I don’t know like, I had like a different idea of who I was going to be and who I applied to be in varsity. so when we walked in he told me that he was into certain photography and that he did photography, he already had a camera by that time, so the same day I held his camera, I took one picture and he was like “Wow that’s actually a great picture, is this your first time using a camera?” and I said “Yeah actually, this is my first time”. I even asked him where the shooter was to take the picture and he couldn’t believe, so from that moment on I started being friends with the Kats from multimedia while I was doing fine arts, I had a very few friends from the fine arts course at that time, I also had friends who were doing second year in multimedia. Yeah, so that’s what got me to photography… Nzolo actually was my saviour, he is the one that actually got me to photography and he’s the one who we started Blaq Eez Art together. It actually makes sense how I’m Blaq and he’s Eez and the name actually came about as Blaq Eez Art, so yeah we started a company together and yeah, he’s the one who got me into photography, Nzolo Bidla.
Besides Photography, what else can David do?
I did fine Arts only first year and dropped out due to financial obstacles and also because I wasn’t interested anymore, I do a lot of things like what a creative does, that’s also a very hard question to answer, I remember one of my friends called Bush Mahlathini who also wrote an article on his tumbler page and he spoke about how people would expect a definite answer from a creative person while you do so many things, so yeah, I’m a creative myself, I can do so many things, I’m a video editor, photo editor, photographer, videographer, reader, a researcher, I’m interested in politics, I’m a writer… yo there’s so many things yo, so I’m just gonna say I’m a creative yo…
Do you want to say anything about Blaq Eez Art?
I actually wanna say a lot about Blaq Eez Art, that’s my baby yo… Blaq Eez art was established back in 2013 when Nzolo and I were still in school, it basically started as this naïve kind of photography thing that everyone is doing right now, and gradually as we came through the years I started reading about other photographers and I came through one guy called Sadi Cali…who is one of my biggest influence actually right now, he calls himself a photovangelist so basically what he does is that he preaches through his art, so I also wanted to preach through my art and that’s how the Blaq Eez that you see right now came about, so Blaq Eez is a platform or a drive that learns about women throughout Africa and projects the feminism thoughts to everyone who needs to know about feministic thought, so Blaq Eez art is a platform for women to speak whatever they need to speak and besides that, Blaq Eez Art I could say it is one of the best kept secrets in the country right now, so when it comes out you yo… Lol. Blaq Eez art is also working on an illustrated book with David Blaq (Me, Myself). So yeah, that’s what I can say about Blaq Eez art
How is the response from family and friends on this journey of yours?
a lot of my friends don’t understand what I’m doing and think it’s just a pervertic kind of David playing along with him and his passion and it is not even that, some responses have been very good, in terms of learning about women and also projecting what women feel, some friends had to say good things… my family, my sister always influences the political perspective in everything that I do and that just also helps me not to drift away from that naïve to an informed kind of David Blaq and also Blaq Eez art that also teaches… I mean it is a sensitive issue when it comes to speaking about women as a man. Tory Blaze is a musician from a small village called N'waxinyamani but currently residing in Olieven Hout Bosch. I’m in the music industry, my speciality is Hip Hop/rap and I've been doing it for as long as I can remember.
Who got Tory Blaze into the hip hop game?
I was born under a family that loves music, so somehow I was destined to be a musician too. I mean at the age of 7 I was writing my own music but back then I had no intentions of pursuing it as a career. I got deep into music at the age of 16 I don't even know exactly how it happened but a friend of mine who was already deep into music played me one of his songs. All I've been doing was writing music so I thought to myself "why don't I record this?” We arranged a recording session with him. The song was extremely boring ha ha… but this didn't make me quit. I went back to the studio on the second day and we recorded a song called "Keep pushing" to my surprise the song received a positive response from local listeners. I made my name in N'waxinyamani with my second record. That's when I started being recognized by local artist and from there I've been chasing this rap dream
Who is your Inspiration?
I wouldn't specify exactly who inspires me but there are a lot of people in the music industry I look up to.
What is the Motive behind your writings?
Most of the times I write about what I've been through and what I want to go through but the real reason why I write music is that I want to inspire people, I want to motivate, I want to free people’s minds, I want the people to know that anything is possible if you give your full effort and never give up, I want someone to look at my life story and be like "wow that kid really made something out of nothing". How is the Response from Family and Friends on this Journey of yours?
My family
fully supports the fact that I am a musician even though I never get to see them as much as I'd like to. They’ve accepted that I was born to make music and my pops has also been very supportive actually he's the one who made me realise that I can make something out of this. As for friends ha-ha I don't even know how to explain it, is like everyone just wants me to be a musician. They do their best to make sure my music is out there. They even get angry when they see me losing focus or passion. My friends always remind me of who I am and I'm very thankful to have them
Who are the great guns you ever worked with in the game?
Even though they are on a higher level compared to mine I don't see them as great I see them as people who have pushed harder than me and I also have to push. Namely *Kwesta* who I opened up a stage for in OHB at a drug awareness campaign. I've also worked with Back To The City producer finalist 2014. It was ok but to be honest to me it felt like working with any other artist, I learnt something new like I always do from any other artist but no doubt it was fun

Lol… This is not a hard one to answer. Tyn-Ish is just a combination of my two names, Tiyani and Ishmael, so I just took the T.Y.N from Tiyani and then took the I.S.H from my other name, maybe you didn’t know my other name Ishmael, but that’s how Tyn-Ish came about, well I was just playing around with my names and then I came up with this name that we have now, Tyn-Ish… Solutions, meaning that it gives you solutions on whatever need you may have, we have the solution for it, and yep... that’s how it came about, Tyn-Ish Solutions… yep
Any amazing people or organizations that you have worked with on Tyn-Ish Solutions? How was the experience?
Up to so far I’ve worked with individuals that I’ve done photography for and also videos for their events, weddings and so forth… but I believe that by God’s grace I’m getting more exposure. Currently I’m working with the most talented woman by the name of Ofiti, she’s a fashion designer if I may call her so, she designs dresses and I do photography for them on monthly bases, you might have seen the pictures on my Facebook page and also on her Facebook page that you can follow to find out more, and again I’m working with the most amazing woman who goes by the name Masechaba Ndlovu, she’s a TV personnel, she hosts shows on TV, you might have seen her a couple of times, yeah that’s the lady that I am working with, it’s amazing how we met, I won’t go much into that but our relationship together is just growing so amazing, every time we meet and I do the stuff for her, so that’s what I’m currently busy with and I’m loving what I’m doing of course, yeah.. I t got me known by top artist around the world, I have people like Jay z following me on Twitter and he's the one who followed me first, and a lot of well-known music producers and music managers following me. I’m just waiting to finish exams then I will strike and talk to all these persons. Maybe 2 or 3 will help, I do sell my beats via internet and people show me support and buy
So who intimidates you in the industry?
Artists who succeeded young; Justice, Martin, One direction. Those are the teens who intimidate me and they are living their dreams. I’m getting there as well. My song turning 18
is being played on radios like Capricorn FM, Hlaganani FM and to top it off, it's on stores, iTunes, Amazon and many more well-known stores
DJ HopeStar vs Ntshembo?
Yeah, Ntshembo is not a rapper, he's a like a normal person but Dj HopeStar, damn that's a guy that is full of fun, who wants to do full time in music, who wants to be heard through music
Hip hop vs church?
In my opinion Hip-Hop is not against church. People just use words that describe church and make it look like Hip hop is against Church. Hip-Hop is a free genre, it covers everyone, and it just has different branches. Just like churches these days, you'll find churches that are against God’s word
Who have you worked with in some of your projects?
I've collaborated with this guy from USA, one of his songs is called “Chained up”. He's a pretty well-known guy in USA and other countries that side but this side I’m not really sure if people know him. I’ve also worked with these other guys, I forgot their names. I found them on Twitter and soundcloud, I started chatting and collaborating with them,

Any updates about Dj HopeStar?
There is an EP coming soon that is gonna be out probably in October, I’m not sure about the date yet, also a performance at Elim, Clemor’s concert and HTD Music production’s concert. They are all in December. Some dope tracks coming from my EP, so you better be ready to turn up in December
Any motivational message to someone who wishes to be like HopeStar?
To stay focused at the particular goal a person wants to achieve. One thing at a time, to not think of hosting an event next week and before hosting, you already planning the next one, no. First try to perfect your first event, then see the mistakes and fix them as you plan for your next. Focusing in one goal at a time.
