Known by his stage name DADDY-D (Daniel Xolile Phokomela) born 05 December 1988 based in Daveyton. DADDY-D is a hip-hop artist, entrepreneur, motivator, MC and a father.
A hip-hop musician that got inspired by hip hop rhymes and beats formed a crew in 2002 called FLADO (FAME AND FORTUNE, LOVE AND LUXURY, ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS, DEDICATION AND DISCPLINE, and OUTREGEOUS LYRICS).
The crew consisted of three people, in 2004 we performed with likes of BONGO RIOT before he got signed by GANG OF INSTRUMENTALS.
In 2005 the crew went on to perform for the IKWEKWEZI FM launch in Mpumalanga till the crew fell apart.
DADDDY-D continued with his music where he got an opportunity as one of the selected Artists to tour with ANC in 2006 performing at their various events.
In 2007 DADDY-D & Joseph Sedibo (Actor) started a company Gunshot Entertainment, getting more clientele to benefit his music and started to do events and hip-hop sessions.
In 2011 he performed at a conference held in Katlehong Change Bible Church with the likes of KHAYA MTHETHWA & JUDITH SEPHUMA.
In 2013 DADDY-D started being an icon in his neighbor-hood, he started motivating youth in high schools, he got called to motivate at ERSA PERFORMING ART SCHOOL, HULWAZI SECONDARY SCHOOL & VARIOUS SCHOOLS in EKURHULENI
2014 he took the BEST HUSTLER AWARD at the SAFU AWARDS
30TH MAY 2015 at KOPANO SPORTS BAR in BENONI, Daddy D launched his first ALBUM called THE JOURNEY. The launch was a success where people paid good money to see him perform without giving out a hard copy.
29th AUGUST 2015, he hosted The Journey Album Gig to build more hype around the Album. The album featured the likes of CHERRY S STONE (BEST VOCALIST AWARD WINNER AT THE SAFU AWARDS), CLAYTON X, FANROOI, TRUE DISCIPLE, DJ LOVE and MC FREAKY.
DADDY-D has branched off to a ‘WHITE’ market and did a song with the Famous NIALL HIGGINS, a very talented individual who plays various musical instruments; he is a vocalist and a rapper at the same time.
The title of the song ‘GOT IT ALL’ created a lot of waves around.
Daddy-D and his Team Gunshot Entertainment have a charity project called THE CHARITY OUTREACH PROGRAM that helps those who are disadvantaged and who are in need.
2013 at CHESHIRE HOME OF THE DISABLE sponsored by OBC STORE and CHANGE BIBLE CHURCH, Gunshot Entertainment spent a day there to give out blankets, clothes and soup. Entertainment was brought to make it a Fun-day for the HOME.
In 2014 the second CHARITY OUTREACH was a huge success we, turned a home that was called a NYAOPE house around a neighbor-hood in Daveyton.
A single parent occupied the house with her 2 children, Gunshot Entertainment got sponsorship from local Paint companies to assist us to paint the house. The house had broken windows and a local glass fitter was called to put windows. PICK N PAY SPONSORED us with food and Grocery for the Family.
Daddy-D as the founder of Gunshot Entertainment has a lot of clientele around Ekurhuleni as the most respected brand and his Management finally managed to do the 1st ANNUAL DAVEYTON HIPHOP MUSIC AWARDS (#DHMA2015) which were held at Victor Ndlazilwane Hall, Daveyton Mall other entities got involved to experience the most established ceremony to hit the streets of DAVEYTON.
Encouraging unsigned artists to push harder and to show them that the contribution they put is worth it.
The DAVEYTON HIPHOP MUSIC AWARDS 2015 was sponsored by AFRICAN BANK and Ekurhuleni Arts and Culture.
2015 Daddy-D managed to obtain a national brand SPUR STEAK RANCHES to sponsor a gig THE KIDS FUNDAY FESTIVAL that was held at Daveyton Marivate Park that became a huge success.
This massive show will be annually done as Daddy-D is building himself in the business sector as well to provide more capital for his music career and becoming the Ambassador of the national brand.
