NORTHGOMORA MIXTAPE PRESS RELEASE
A mixtape comprising of 11 tracks released by RICHI RICH on the 10th of May 2018.
In this project I was influenced by the quality and flair of the North God and the new age kwaito sound by Suup Zulu no Okmalumkookat along the likes of Spikiri and TheGoodDokta.
With this project I aim to narrate the side of the historic township of Alexandra that is not publicized. With Hoody and trendy choruses, high pitched melodies on Trap, Kwaito and House beats, courting verses and party anthems.
I clearly cater for an array of listeners in the North and South Africa at large, known for my previous projects Gfunkera, Ghettofabulous, Artrap EP I hope this project helps me draw a larger audience.
In this project I worked a few producers that helped me cultivate my sound, this is something new fresh and exciting not everyone can do what we do. I worked with the likes of Suup Zulu, Djhotplay (PNBEATS), Hip-Naughtic Sean, QupeeDeSoul and Zamssh.
I took four months to do the tape but I took time to drop it but I decided to drop it now because I feel like South Africa and the world at large needs something fresh, new and exciting, Me and the North Gomora Affiliates are exactly that.
