James Blake has today unveiled the video for ‘Mile High’, taken from his critically-acclaimed new album, ‘Assume Form’.

Featuring Travis Scott (fresh from this year’s Superbowl), ‘Mile High’ is a standout moment on ‘Assume Form’. Having reached number 6 in the UK, ‘Assume Form’ has quickly become James’ highest-charting and most critically-acclaimed album to date (also surpassing over 40 million streams in just a week).

The ‘Mile High’ video sees James reunite with Nabil, who he previously collaborated with on the video for ‘Overgrown’ and has also directed videos for the likes of Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar and Arctic Monkeys. An intimate headline tour, including two nights at London’s Eventim Apollo (which sold out immediately), begins in April, with an extensive run of global dates confirmed as below.

‘Assume Form’ continues James Blake’s ascension as one of the most important musicians, producers and songwriters in the world. A Mercury-Prize-winner and Brit and Grammy nominee, the album features the kind of world-class guests who could only be united by a mercurial, one-off talent (André 3000, Travis Scott, ROSALÍA, Metro Boomin and Moses Sumney). As unrestricted by genre as it is always underpinned by classic, emotionally-open songwriting, James’ new record is also his most direct, eclectic and pure artistic statement to date. Even the artwork would appear to represent a fundamental shift for Blake, no longer distorted by illustration, landscape or design, but staring right at you – and into the future.

James Blake’s is an influence that can be felt throughout the modern musical landscape, often hiding in plain sight; allowing the man himself – as his fourth album suggests – to always evolve. To never settle. To ‘Assume Form’.
