Malcolm.E releases his debut EP project: "Things Change"

After spending the last 3 years working on his craft whilst studying for his Diploma in Sound Technology and Production at Cape Audio College in Cape Town, Malcolm.E is finally ready to introduce himself to the music industry. His debut EP ‘Things Change’ was official released on 19 April 2019.

Born on 5 July 1997 in Swaziland, the 21 year old rapper started working on the project in 2018. He has explored different styles over the years and now feels he has found his niche.

“This project was really about finding myself as a person and as an artist and figuring out what I really want to do in music and what my message is. I am still exploring this as I believe it takes time for an artist to truly find themselves creatively, but I feel the core of my style is very evident on this project and what people can expect from me in the future.”

Malcolm.E boasts a smooth base voice that sets him apart from current artists in the music circuit today and he distinctly incorporates vocal melodies on some of his tracks.
“My sound is lyrical trap. I’m not at all a singer but I have developed a way to merge vocal melodies into my sound my own way.”

He counts several internationally renowned artists as his influences.
“Growing up I was highly influenced by the likes of Lil Wayne, Jay Z, Eminem and J Cole to name a few of the Hip Hop artists that are classified as lyrical. While still finding my sound I fell in love with trap music and it has definitely influenced my sound and I believe that is where I get my melodies and catchy hooks from. Trap artists that influenced me include Migos and Travis Scott.”

The EP kicks off with the thunderous ‘Vission’ which is set to be a club banger. On this project he also works with other upcoming South African artists like DKD on the track ‘Red Lights’ and KEØZEI on ‘Wrist Frozen’ to name a couple.

Malcolm.E recently competed in the MTN Bushfire Pulse Firefly competition dedicated to giving upcoming artists an opportunity to showcase their work where he made it to the Top Ten out of the over 500 artists from Swaziland that competed.

Malcolm.E’s EP ‘Things Change’ is currently available for streaming on Sound Cloud and Audiomack and is set to be released on all other major commercial digital music platforms early May 2019.
