What do you think made you win the #OMGWAP competition?
The will to want to make it happen, if you really want something you go out of your way to attain that goal, and I think that's simply said but harder done, because being an artist is not enough in this day and age, you really have to grind hard as an artist to take your craft to the level were they crown you the best.

.
Besides You, Whom do you think should have won the competition by that time?
Like Slikour said "I'm the one that Set the bar" ,roughly translated, there was no one else who could have won the competition at that time and I mean, there was alot of people in the event, like tens of thousands type, so its pretty difficult for me to pick who it could have been, I knew that I was aiming for the bulls eye from the moment I entered into it, all the other artists videos + audios combined with the live performance aspect of the height of the competition just didn't cut it for Old Mutual, there are big artists that came to watch the new breed of the best through OMGWAP, and you had to be on your A game, at that time, I was ready.
.
.
What do you think of the #OMGWAP winner of 2019 Siya?
From the brief time I spent with him I could tell that he was ready to be the new #OMGWAP winner, he is also a good live performance artist for real, I'm sure he has a bright future in music ahead of him.

What got you into Hip hop?
My environment,  I just grew up around a family of musicians and the older I got the more I focused my inherited musical abilities into an output like Hip-Hop, Its such an amazing genre, timeless and all music encompassing, Hip Hop has all the genres into one,you can fuse everything into Hip Hop man, what a life! Beats and lyrics are just everything to me,I get in a trance, Fyaaa!
.
.
If it wasn't for Hip hop, where do you think you would have been doing?
If it wasn't for Hip Hop i'd be doing Radio or Dramatic Arts man, I graduated from Yfm's Yacademy in 2014 and I've emersed myself in radio ever since, on my campus UFS I had a show for 3years called #KovsieKontraband, some new age wavy type of late night shows so, i still have a knack for radio,on air and off air coordinating but you'd most likely find me in the musical studio you feel me.
.
.
What is the good and the worst thing about hip hop in South Africa according to your experiences?
That's a tough one because everyone feels so emotional about this subject but, I feel like Mzansi doesn't really support the Hip Hop industry, they don't appreciate it, people want to go to the club and dance to house,  they doing appreciate a live artist in front of them, they love the DJ more lol, so I think we just need to support local talent more, especially the Hip Hop because we need to compete on a mass international scale, the money is in commercial mainstream music.
.
.
Radio and Your Music... if you were to choose one, what would it be?
I'd choose my music man, if there had to be a zombie apocalypse there would be no radio stations, but i'd have my 16 bars and some homies to beat box for me till the end of time.

What is that one mistake that you think upcoming rappers do and it blocks their breakthrough?
They have to be themselves number 1 and make their own sound, don't copy, I mean you can do it for fun to show that you aren't stuck in the past, but when it comes to giving out projects, they must be really original and dope, that's how you gain recognition that lasts and it doesn't happen over night,  one must keep on being consistent you feel me, patience brings roses.
.
.
Fya Philly, what's the story behind this stage name?
Ishuu, Fya is the ebonic (black way) of saying Fire, and a Philly is another name for a Joint, so the stage name means light a blunt, but it just came out through high school times and all that,  everyone just calls me Fya though.
.
.
Is there any coming projects from Fya Philly that fans can expect?
Yeah man, as yall know I got my debut mixtape titled FyaStunna Lyfestyle which is me and one of the dopest beat makers from Bloemfontein called 3Dee Stunna, I got the 2nd edition to that mixtape coming, then I got an ep titled Old Days Gone, that one is going to be a classic, been working on it with my producer Valentino Sauzer from Europe, so those are my tapes and did I mention I got 2 Hot music videos from the FyaStunna Lyfestyle  tape? No Hesitation and Trap Town, no days for the TV premier right now but yall can definitely catch those on YouTube,  shout out to my director Henry Charly from We Heart Studios, the stuff is just perfect cinematography.
