Oxford dictionary defines nostalgia as, "a sentimental longing or wistful affection for a period in the past." NELSTALGIC is a combination of my name 'Nel' & the feeling of nostalgia which is referred as nostalgic. The song is is about how I feel whenever I think about the past, you know growing up, I've always thought life revolves around looking cool & having some affection towards girls, 'cause why else would a nigga wanna look cool, it's all for the ladies. Now grown up, at the age of 22, I look at the past & I feel that the memories of wilding out so caring about public affection was fun while it lasted. Right about, we're grown, and the goal is to make it big, achieve more success & retire both my mother & father
Why did you decide to Release it on Your Birthday Day?
I am a very active artist in grounds of distributing music, I release a lot of it. Now since my parents listen to my music every now & then, today is my birthday & that alone can have them spare a few attention towards their boy, so this day was accurate for the release cause as we speak my mother has already acknowledged the song & she sings the bright that goes, "my momma, my momma... my poppa, my poppa.." it is a great motive when you hear that your parents acknowledge, understand & support your purpose in life. As my father always tells me, "you can't force your child to be someone or something he doesn't inspire to be, cause in the near future you will be responsible for their miserable life of failure. The best you can do, is support & help 'em climb." Today I was just letting them know that I acknowledge my age, time is still on my side, reminding them that the past is left in the past.
How long did it take for the whole project to complete?
Early this month, I went to Pretoria to visit my boy D$llar Bilĺ-Rsa for a studio session, he wanted me to do a verse on one of his tracks for his upcoming album. We engaged in a conversation about uplifting the community, and charity works where we could, and he played me this other project/song which was meant for a local brand of clothing. He told me that they asked him to do a song to rep. their brand, but they never used the song, so when he played me that song, I fell in love with the beat & I remember telling him that I wanted it. I didn't leave his apartment without the beat, I waited for him as he remastered it. If I had to measure hours or minutes it took to write the song, I'd estimate it to be around 30 minutes of both the verses, the hook & bridge. The only thing I took my time on was the mixing & mastering of the song, I believe I gave myself a week to master the song, all of that in everyday 30 minutes per day, I didn't want to rush it like I always do. I wanted to deliver a quality mastered song since I took it the instrument from a hard working quality producer. I didn't want to let him down, he served me with a great instrument, so I had to deliver. So, I took a couple of weeks to master it, writing for me ain't no hard job, mastering is, so I saved that for last & I took it with patience & the outcome is just mesmerizing.
How z do you expect the audience to respond to this Song since you dropped it on your Birthday?
Exactly like they did, when I dropped the snippet, a lot of people who are close to me, my fans rather, were waiting on it with anticipation. One of my colleagues actually wanted a verse, and he wrote a whole verse & pitched it to me. I loved the verse actually, it went to show that I had inspired the guy with just a 30 seconds snippet of that hook. And I believe we will have to do a remix of the song evidently.
Are we expecting a remix for this song anytime soon?
Oh yes! Like I said, I dropped a snippet & my boy Jaed $ix was hungry for a verse in that project, he was durange, crazy, boy was on fire cause he wrote a verse within an hour of viewing that snippet & he sent me the lyrics as well as a video of him rapping to be beat, like that was a hundred percent perfect pitch I've ever seen, so yeah. I can't close doors on him, we're definitely planning on making a remix, and we can hopefully drop a music video for the remix. Since Jaed doesn't have his own studio, he's planning of buying a session, once he books a session & record his part. The rest will be taken care of, and I'll announce when the remix may drop.
Shout Out
I'd like to send a shout out to Jah, Higher God, for blessing me with the time I've seen & been able to use as I did. Followed by my parents, "my momma, and my poppa" lastly, I'd like to send a shout out to my girl, she's been good to me. Take care! Lmfao!!

What inspired you to find yourself painting the late AKA on your body?
His passing has been such a tragedy that as a fellow artist a and fan of his craft, I felt the need to honour the time he had with us here on earth.
How long did it take you to complete the whole makeup / painting?
It took me a good 6hours / plus. Literally sitting and taking only necessary breaks like a snack nibble, sip of water or bathroom break

How is the response from the fans and social media towards this artwork?
Literally the Third most viral post on social media, which I wasn’t prepared for! The love has been immense, so grateful.
How is this artwork’s response different from Riky Rick’s that you did by the time he passed away?
Ricky Rick’s death was more personal to me and since it was my first tribute, I can say it really blew everyone’s minds.

What message would you wish to have sent to AKA or his Family as we pay tribute?
I want them to see that he has really accomplished so much, even though he might have had more plans but his mark has been made. The Megacy will remain even after his passing.
How has the journey been from when we had our first article with you till now?
It has been amazing from working closely with celebrities in their respective fields and receiving an award nominations for most creative and best makeup artist which I was against the likes of Nomfundo Moh and Lady Amar to name a few, was such an honour.
If you were to say something to encourage upcoming makeup artists out there, what would you say?

Hi guys, we have changed the Rap type Mag website domain from a . co . za to a . com
reason being that we are reaching out to so many countries outside africa and people trust websites more when they see a . com domain.
some countries are not familiar with the . co . za domain and might find it dodgy to visit our website if it is not a . com
also it will be very easy to remember our website as you wont struggle trying to think of what domain we used but you will just go . com at the end and find us quick.
we are happy to announce our new website address as
.
please note that the old . co . za still works but it will redirect you to the new website address with a . com domain.
everything still works normal. just the domain name that changed.

Well, the idea Behind Closed Doors was brought into my very own mind because of how a colleague of mine has been roaming around with different girls in means of, "no strings attached" so he would be sneaking around with these girls, without dating them. Just a matter of being a shoulder to cry on, because these girls has their own boyfriends. But what happens is, when they're going through a rough patch with their partners, instead of talking it out with them, they go around & sleep with dude right here. And so, it appeared to me, how the boyfriends only sees the one side of the story, how his girl keeps trying to save him from trouble by encouraging him to be a good boy, and do what's best for their future. And in that, the boyfriend be trying his best to become somebody that his girlfriend is in visioning him to be, which is the best that he can ever be. But on the other hand, since he's on the hard path to success, nobody is going to accommodate at all times on your darkness of time, so she's there with him, but on the other hand she runs behind closed doors to ease that stress up, sleeping around with someone who's only daily habit is smoking weed & sitting at the corner stores. That's where she goes for relief, cause she won't find any with her boyfriend, since she's pushing him to be at his best, so he ain't resting till he's successful.
Why did you decide to Release it on Valentine’s Day?
The reason why I decided to release this song on Valentines is because I want it to remind people of such events going on, mostly because on this day, people are going to be focusing on all the love & sharing, some being exploited. I just want to remind that of the truth, because people are behaving out of character today simply because they are expecting a gift from someone. It is a lovely day, but it is being exploited if you know that Anyday of the year is nothing but hate, but suddenly today you're getting more love than you ever get. If something is too good to be true, after listening to that song, I'm here to confirm & remind you again that it isn't.
How long did it take for the whole project to complete?
It only took me a day to actually make the song, including mixing & mastering, I might have taken an hour to record it because I was seemingly freestyling the verses. What actually delayed the process was the hook, I had to re-record the hook more than 20 times, simply because my humming would be off beat or off key, since I'm only a rapper not a singer, I find it hard to control my keys when I do something like this. And just like that the song was done. Although, I've recently started mastering my own music, I actually discovered a way to produce the hook more phenomenally, and I did, but I'm sorry to inform you that the project that you're listening to right now is a demo, the original was lost when my computer was hit by a virus. That is the demo before the perfect mastering.
Who did you work with on this Song?
I worked alone on the mixing, and mastering of my vocals. And the beat was generated by an online purchase over Beatstars.
How do you expect the audience to respond to this Song?
I would like for them to listen with caution, never to overreact in their relationships or anything like that because of this. I just ask for them to be alert of such events, and if such does ever happen to you, to know very well that such occurs to anybody. This is how people think & people are going to act in certain ways due to certain situations in order to overcome certain circumstances or challenges, it is never too personal till you wrap your head around it & make it all about yourself, it is selfish. In the second verse of that song, I was explaining exactly why would a girl circum to such activities, it doesn't mean that she loves you less, she just ain't got no respect for you like that 'cause you don't seem to have it within yourself so get yourself straight.
Are we expecting a remix for this song anytime soon?
As for now, I don't think that we'll be having a Remix of the song, because the song is from an upcoming mixtape that I'm working on & it is a solo mixtape. I decided to do a solo mixtape, but if someone was to propose such. I'd listen to them & meet on suitable terms & we could do a Remix.
Shout Outs
Uhm, I just want to send a shout out to God. None of this would be possible without him, I appreciate him at most!
